Ellis Byers Room

Ellis Byers, the son of a prominent Lovington family, was killed when the bomber plane he was flying went down over Germany in 1945. The exhibit contains military memorabilia from his military life and sketches the lives of two early families of Lea, the Byers and the Hobbs families who settled in 1907 on land that became the city of Hobbs. The exhibit is located on the second floor of the 1931 Lister Building.
